Plates and platters can simply be a surface to eat off of. But when you use plates that are handcrafted, well made a loved, you are getting an experience. Some of my favorite objects to make are unique plates, platters and dishes that bring an artful experience into your kitchen and dining room. Using slump molds, the potters wheel, knives and textured tools, I try to push the edges of traditional pottery to bring you fun, decorative and utilitarian work. Special to our work is how it is fired in the potters kiln. The glaze breaks on these cuts, grooves and surfaces revealing subtle qualities in the original glazes. While the work shown here is all unique, I am happy to customize a dinner set using repeated shapes or where each piece is unique.
